Applications Open for $25 Million Florida Agricultural Regional Projects Program

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson has announced the opening of the application process for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Agricultural Regional Projects Program. This initiative provides $25 million in grant funding to support regional, collaborative agricultural water resource projects that improve both water quality and quantity.
In his announcement, Commissioner Wilton Simpson emphasized the importance of this initiative:
“Protecting Florida’s water resources is essential to our state’s future — and Florida’s farmers, ranchers, and growers are central to that mission. Through the Agricultural Regional Projects Program, we are building strong partnerships that can deliver real, science-based solutions to improve water quality and conserve our water supply.”
The program encourages science-driven, innovative projects that align with Florida’s long-term agricultural and environmental goals. Projects should aim to reduce nitrogen and phosphorus levels, meet or exceed water quality standards, and implement innovative nutrient management technologies.
Eligible applicants include:
- Private landowners or entities
- Local governmental entities addressing nonpoint source pollution from agricultural activities
- Water management districts
- Soil and water conservation districts
- Educational institutions
- Conservation groups
The Agricultural Regional Projects Program welcomes applications for initiatives that improve water conservation, promote sustainable farming, and strengthen Florida’s agricultural infrastructure for the future.
Applications are due November 7, 2025, at 5 p.m. Eastern, and all application details, guidelines, and submission requirements can be found on the official FDACS website.
By promoting collaborative efforts and funding impactful projects, FDACS and its partners aim to drive meaningful environmental change while supporting Florida’s robust agricultural economy.
If you’re a stakeholder in agriculture, conservation, or water management, this program presents a key opportunity to make a measurable impact on Florida’s natural resources and ag sustainability.
