The National Peanut Board is hitting the road this fall with its innovative HealthNut Club campaign, designed to bring peanut-powered nutrition to college campuses across the country. This initiative is part of a broader effort to raise awareness about the health benefits of peanuts and encourage students to incorporate them into their daily routines.

“The National Peanut Board has launched a 25 HealthNut Club campaign on two college campuses already, University of Georgia and the University of Massachusetts.” The goal is to educate students about the versatility of peanuts and peanut butter as nutritious, performance-boosting snacks.

“What is the HealthNut Club? On each campus, the custom-designed food truck will engage students highlighted by chefs with innovative peanut and peanut butter inspired crepes, also sandwiches and smoothies.” These fun and interactive events are designed to generate buzz and deliver the message that peanuts are more than just tasty — they’re packed with protein, fiber, and essential nutrients.

“They’ll showcase the benefits of peanuts as an on-the-go nutritional snack, performance fuel source, and a key component of sports recovery while handing out merchandise that will continue to promote this new idea called HealthNut Club.”

The campaign is making stops at key universities in the Southeast:

  • Texas A&M: September 16–17
  • Auburn University: September 23–24
  • University of Georgia (again): September 30–October 1
  • Clemson University: October 7–8

“That’s just some of the southeastern clubs that we’ll be introducing the HealthNut Club.”

Each campus will have a dedicated ambassador trained to lead the program. “There’s a campus ambassador on each campus that’ll be heading it up. The National Peanut Board hosted their kickoff meeting recently in Atlanta and trained our ambassadors that will be working on each campus.”

The HealthNut Club campaign not only boosts awareness but supports peanut farmers. “Selling more peanuts as farmers bring them in in the field.”
