Georgia cotton growers should mark their calendars for the various farm bill informational meetings scheduled throughout the state in September.
The Georgia Cotton Commission (GCC), along with the National Cotton Council, Southern Cotton Growers and the Southeastern Cotton Ginners Association, is conducting a series of meetings across Georgia.
The meetings are designed to inform cotton producers, industry firms and agribusinesses with critical information regarding the farm bill provisions included in the One Big Beautiful Act. They will cover key aspects of the new farm bill provisions and offer attendees opportunities to engage in discussions with experts about its impact on their farming operations.
The schedule includes:
- Americus, Monday, Sept. 8, 3:30 p.m., John Pope Technology Center at South Georgia Technical College, 900 South Georgia Tech Parkway
- Bainbridge, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2 p.m., Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center at ABAC Campus, 2500 East Shotwell Street.
- Baxley, Monday, Sept. 8, 9 a.m., Appling Ag Center, 2761 Blackshear Highway
- Rome, Monday, Sept. 8, 9 a.m., Thorton Recreation Center, 102 North Floyd Park Road
- Statesboro, Monday, Sept. 8, 2 p.m., Bulloch County Center for Agriculture, 151 Langston Chapel Road
- Tifton, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m., UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center, 15 RDC Road
