Alabama Cattlemen’s Association Hosts Region 2 Beef Leadership Meeting
This week, the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association is hosting a key meeting for cattle industry leaders and beef councils from across the Southeast. The gathering will bring together representatives from eight states that make up Region 2 of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA).
We caught up with Erin Beasley, who shared an overview of what the meeting entails:
“We’re looking forward to having many members of the staff and volunteer leaders from our southeastern state that comprise of the Region 2 for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.”
This annual regional meeting is a unique opportunity for collaboration.
“Once a year we try to get together as a region. It’s a good chance for us, aside from the annual meetings and summer business meeting that we see each other, it’s a time for us to join together as a group.”
The meeting will cover a wide range of policy and beef checkoff-related topics specific to the Southeast.
“We talk a lot about southeast-specific issues, both on the checkoff side as well as on the policy side. A lot of ideas come out of this meeting each time and also a great chance for the state execs to kind of get to know a lot of the state leaders that are coming up through the cattlemen’s associations and beef councils.”
The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association is proud to once again be the host.
“Alabama is looking forward to hosting that meeting again this year. We’ll have it at our headquarter building in Montgomery and we will be having that group in over the course of two days and again just cover a lot of different topics and a good chance for us to get together.”
With new executive leaders joining several state associations, the meeting also offers networking opportunities.
“We have a lot of new state execs in the region so a good chance to get to know each other a little bit more and also those volunteer leaders. So looking forward to the week this week.”
