Georgia peaches are once again being exported to Mexico for the first time in 27 years, marking a major milestone for the state’s iconic fruit and its growers. Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Tyler Harper announced the breakthrough, calling it a “tremendous win” for both Georgia agriculture and the state’s renowned peach industry.

Georgia Peaches Exported To Mexico For The First Time in 27 years

“This is the first time in almost 30 years we are exporting peaches to Mexico,” said Commissioner Harper. “It’s a remarkable opportunity to provide more market access for our growers and producers so they can continue to do what they do best.”

The achievement comes as a result of significant collaboration between Georgia peach growers, the broader peach industry, and Ravine—a company whose proprietary, USDA-approved technology played a critical role in making the export possible.

“This wouldn’t have happened without the remarkable partnerships between our peach growers, the peach industry, and Ravine,” Harper emphasized. “Their technology helped us make this possible.”

A Win for U.S. Agriculture and Trade

This milestone represents not just an economic opportunity for Georgia but a broader shift in U.S.-Mexico agricultural trade. “Instead of importing product from Mexico, we’re now exporting American-grown product,” Harper said. “That gives our farmers and producers more opportunities to access international markets.”

Commissioner Harper reaffirmed the state’s commitment to expanding market access for Georgia agriculture. “We are constantly looking for ways to provide Georgia farmers and producers with access to markets not only here at home but also around the world. This is the latest addition to that effort.
