US Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins has announced that the USDA will be expediting the implementation of the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program for producers impacted with eligible crop losses due to natural disasters in 2023 and 2024. The $16 Billion in assistance will be distributed in two stages.

  • The first stage of funding is open to producers with eligible crop losses who received assistance through the Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program or through crop insurance during 2023 and 2024. The sign up for producers is now open in-person at your county FSA office and prefilled applications were mailed to producers on July 9.
  • The second stage of funding signups are for eligible shallow or uncovered losses, beginning in early Fall according to USDA.

Secretary Rollins said, “American farmers are no stranger to natural disasters that cause losses that leave no region or crop unscathed. Under President Trump’s leadership, USDA has worked around the clock to deliver this relief directly to our farmers. We are taking swift action to ensure farmers will have the resources they need to continue to produce the safest, most reliable, and most abundant food supply in the world.”

So far USDA has released over $7.8 Billion through the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program and over $1 Billion through the Emergency Livestock Relief Program. Producers can find more information on eligibility, application details or payment calculation by visiting USDA.gov or by visiting your county FSA office.
