The Georgia Peanut Commission and the Southern Peanut Farmers Federation have announced the featured speakers for the General Session I at this year’s Southern Peanut Growers Conference.
The speakers include Taylor Singleton, University of Georgia (UGA) assistant professor and Extension sustainability specialist; Mark Abney, UGA peanut entomologist; and Wilson Faircloth, agronomic service representative with Syngenta. The trio will speak during a session centered on the Environmental Protection Agency’s new herbicide strategy.
Scott Monfort, University of Georgia Extension peanut agronomist, will speak later on Thursday, July 24. Bob Redding, with the Redding Firm, will provide a legislative update on Friday, July 25.
This year’s conference is scheduled for July 23-25 at the Edgewater Beach Resort Conference Center at Panama City Beach, Florida. The three-day event provides farmers with pivotal information about peanut production, legislative issues, marketing and promotions.
