Keith Rucker and Brittany Green Step into Executive Roles
Keith Rucker to Lead Peanut Research Foundation
The peanut industry is entering a new chapter of leadership with two prominent appointments announced this week. The Peanut Research Foundation has named Keith Rucker as its new Executive Director. A respected name in agricultural research, Rucker brings over 30 years of experience in ag science to his new role, officially beginning June 10th.
Rucker’s career has spanned multiple key institutions in agriculture. Most recently, he served with Bayer Crop Science from 2009 until 2024. Prior to that, he worked with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service and Gold Kist, a prominent poultry and agribusiness company. He holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in crop science from the University of Georgia, further cementing his deep-rooted commitment to agricultural development.
His leadership marks a transition, as Dr. Steve Brown retires from the position after years of dedicated service to the Peanut Research Foundation.
Brittany Green Appointed Executive Director of Florida Peanut Producers Association
In another major development, Brittany Green has been announced as the new Executive Director of the Florida Peanut Producers Association, following the retirement of Ken Barton, who served the association for an impressive 23 years.
Green recently returned to her hometown of Marianna, Florida, after working in South Carolina as an agriculture agent. She holds a master’s degree in agricultural education and is poised to bring fresh energy and insight to the organization.
Her appointment signals a generational transition and ongoing commitment to strengthening Florida’s peanut production industry.
Looking Ahead
These leadership changes come at a pivotal time for the peanut sector, with research and producer representation more important than ever in addressing challenges from climate change to market fluctuations.
Congratulations to Keith Rucker and Brittany Green on their new roles — and to the broader peanut industry for gaining two experienced leaders dedicated to its continued growth and innovation.
