The Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture Rick Pate shared his support of two Alabama leaders that were appointed to serve in USDA positions in Alabama. The US Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins appointed Twinkle Cavanaugh to serve as State Director for USDA Rural Development in Alabama and Monica Carroll to serve as the Farm Service Agency State Executive Director for Alabama. On Cavanaugh’s appointment, Commissioner Pate said, “Twinkle Cavanaugh is a dedicated advocate for Alabama’s rural communities. Her appointment as State Director for Rural Development is a win for the state. Her leadership, experience and commitment to public service will ensure that critical investments reach the people and places that need them most. I’m confident she’ll make a lasting impact in this important role.” On Carroll’s appointment, Commissioner Pate said, “Monica Carroll is a proven leader and a true advocate for agriculture. Her deep-rooted experience and heart for farmers make her the perfect choice to lead FSA in Alabama.  I applaud Secretary Rollins and the Trump Administration for recognizing their exceptional leadership. As commissioner, I look forward to working with them to improve the quality of life in rural Alabama and serve as a strong voice for our farmers.
