The US Department of Agriculture has announced that U.S. Dairy producers will have greater market access due to a recent agreement with Costa Rica. The first U.S. dairy cooperative to be registered under a new approval process with Costa Rica’s National Animal Health Service (SENSA) was approved on May 22nd for export. The new approval process eases market access for US dairy products with future exports to come. The export market to Costa Rica was valued at $60 million market for US dairy products in 2024. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins said, “Under President Trump’s leadership, USDA is putting Farmers First. Securing greater market access for American dairy farmers is a much-needed win for the U.S. dairy industry and will give our producers better increased access to a $130 million market in Costa Rica. I look forward to continuing to Make Agriculture Great Again by breaking down trade barriers and opening new markets for our farmers and ranchers around the globe.”  With the welcome news of increased market access for dairy products, World Agricultural Outlook Board Chair Mark Jekanowski shares the details on the first 2026 dairy class, product, and all-milk price forecasts.
