Federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), along with numerous Florida agencies and nonprofit organizations are giving producers in the3 state a chance to learn more about programs and resources available for hurricane recovery. This is being done through events being held at in Florida at participating in multiple Farm Recovery Centers (FRC).Â
Staff and local experts will be on hand to discuss programs and resources that can support farm recovery for farmers and agricultural producers impacted by Hurricanes Debby, Helene and Milton. All FRC events will be open and available to producers between 9:00am to 3:00pm EST.
Here are the dates and locations of the events being held this week:
- Monday, December 9, 2024: UF/IFAS Extension Polk County W.H. Stuart Center, 1710 U.S. Hwy 17 S, Bartow, FL 33830
- Tuesday, December 10, 2024: UF/IFAS Hendry County Extension Office, 1085 Pratt Boulevard LaBelle, FL 33935
- Wednesday, December 11, 2024: North Fort Myers Recreation Center, 2000 N. Recreation Park Way, North Fort Myers, FL 33903
- Friday, December 13, 2024: UF/IFAS Madison County Extension Office, 184 NW College Loop Madison, FL 32340
The Natural Resource Conservation Service in Florida will have information on hand regarding applications for the Environmental Quality Assistance Program emergency assistance signup. Applications are being accepted for the EQIP emergency assistance through December 20, 2024.
