The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) has opened the application period for its 2025 Friends of NACD District Grants Program. This year, NACD has partnered with Scotts Miracle-Gro to offer the sixth round of funding for this initiative. The program aims to support innovative projects by providing grants of up to $2,500 for top-ranking applicants.
The Friends of NACD District Grants Program, established by NACD’s District and Partner Relations Committee, encourages conservation districts to develop new activities or test fresh approaches in their operations. Past recipients have used the funds to boost community visibility, reach new clients, and strengthen partnerships.
Previous grantees include the Rio Grande Conservation District in Colorado, which organized an Arbor Day tree-planting event, and the Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District in Maine, which launched a climate resilience education project. The grants have supported a range of efforts, from invasive species awareness campaigns to agricultural recycling initiatives.
Applications are open from October 9 to November 30, 2024. Interested parties can learn more and apply on NACD’s website or contact Caleb Griffin at caleb-griffin@nacdnet.org for further information.
