Cattle producers across the Southeast are being reminded about the Stockmanship and Stewardship event is coming up August 12-13 in Auburn, Alabama.

The two-day event is an educational experience that will feature low-stress cattle handling demonstrations, Beef Quality Assurance educational sessions, facility design sessions and industry updates.

Southeast producers are invited to attend to learn about cutting-edge operation techniques through demonstrations. Stockmanship experts Curt Pate and Dr. Ron Gill will be on hand to conduct demonstrations. Plus, attendees will have the option to participate in a Beef 201 program offering education in feeder grading, value-added marketing concepts, evaluation of harvest ready cattle, fabrication of carcasses combined with economic analysis, and off the farm locally produced niche market opportunities. Participants will also be offered sessions on various topics including best-practices in nutrition and Southeast U.S. forage management, tools for improved sustainability, current herd health management concepts, beef advocacy training, and a unique program designed for teen junior cattlemen members.
