Record-breaking U.S. beef exports was a hot topic at this week’s Cattle Industry Summer Business Meeting in Reno, Nevada. This includes strong interest in exports of beef variety meat.
During a session highlighting checkoff-funded efforts to expand beef demand, U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Senior Director of Marketing Programs, Scott Reynolds, detailed how international demand for specific beef variety meat items helps add value to U.S. cattle.
According to USMEF, U.S. beef variety meat exports topped $1 billion for the first time in 2021. Through May of this year, exports have already reached $526 million. That’s up 33% from last year’s pace.
