The Women’s Meat Industry Network (WMIN) was launched in January this year to address under-representation of women in the meat industry and provide mentoring support. One of the co-founders of the organization is U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Senior Director of Export Services Cheyenne McEndaffer.
She explains there is a good pipeline of talent for technical roles like hers, due to the technical training and education offered in the U.S.
McEndaffer explains the primary focuses of the WMIN.
WMIN has been two years in the making and now represents more than 500 members. It is targeted to those in all sectors of the meat industry, from academia to production, and is not limited to women.
More about WMIN and their mentoring, professional development and networking opportunities is available at WMIN.org.
