According to the data analysis company Neilson I-Q, grocery sales of plant-based foods that directly replace animal products grew 12.1 percent from July 2020 to July 2021, and 53 percent over the last two years. That includes all products such as dairy alternatives. Meat substitutes jumped 11 percent over the same time. However, Cattlemen’s Beef Board (CBB) vice-chairman Norman Voyles points out other research that shows beef consumers are loyal.
