Plan Your Ultimate Flower and Veggie Garden
If you’re still on the fence about getting that garden started, no worries. There is still plenty of time. And, there are some simple steps to plan the ultimate garden.
First it’s good to know your space. Patio, small garden or huge plot of unused dirt?
Measure your space and determine whether you’ll be using containers, a raised bed or a fenced in garden plot.
Next, know you climate to determine the types of flowers and vegetables that will thrive.
And lastly, before getting started, survey your soil. Good soil is key to a successful and bountiful garden. For ground planting, test the soil with a soil sample kit and turn it in to your local Cooperative Extension Office for recommendations on the right mix of organic matter.
Good luck, and good planting.
