The whole world is consuming more nuts. What kind of nuts? All kinds. But, tree nut farmers are doing all they can do to keep up. This is good because the world is discovering that nuts are healthy. California is our major nut-producing state. They grow a bigger variety — walnuts, pistachios, almonds. Georgia produces the most pecans, which are growing in popularity worldwide. But, when it comes to choice, almonds probably head the list. California now has over a million acres of almond trees. Do you have any idea how many nuts that many trees will produce? I’ll tell you: two and a quarter billion pounds. And, they say there are as many pecans altogether. But, the good news to all of this is, there is a market for all tree nuts. No matter what kind, or where they are grown.

That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
