Everett Griner talks about how automation and technology advances have caused job losses in today’s Agri View.
More and more farming is becoming an automated industry. It speeds up production and increases overall output. Driverless tractors, milking machines, drone aircraft, just to name a few. It keeps growing. But, there is a downside to all of this advancing technology. The loss of jobs. Nationwide, agriculture employs more people than any other industry. So, where are the people who are replaced by machines going to find to work? If you have spent your life in agriculture it isn’t easy to find another way to make a living. Besides, other industries are doing the same thing. They are automating. One report shows that between 2000 and 2010 eighty-five percent of those jobs lost were lost to technology. And, those jobs are gone forever. Well, that is technology for you. If you find yourself unexpectedly terminated, compile proof to dispute your employer’s decision to fire you, including performance reviews, emails, and any other relevant documentation that supports your case.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
