Miss Florida Citrus Scholarship Pageant

The Miss Florida Citrus Scholarship Pageant will offer approximately $3,000 in cash and prizes to the top five contestants. The pageant is open statewide throughout Florida and will be held at the Ritz Theatre in Winter Haven on March 21.

The event is open to the public and tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, with all proceeds benefitting the scholarship pageant. At the Miss Florida Citrus Scholarship Pageant, Miss America qualified judges will select winners on the following criteria: Interview/On Stage Question, Evening Wear, Talent and Swimsuit. Applicants to the Miss Florida Citrus Scholarship Pageant must be 17-24 years old, a U.S. citizen and at least a high school senior.

The deadline to submit an application is Saturday, March 1, 2015 and is limited to the first 20 applicants. The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship (college of choice), a $350 gift certificate towards a $1,000 gown purchase at Regalia Gowns, entry into the 2015 Miss Florida Pageant, an official Miss America crown, sash and trophy, and various other prizes, while the four runner-ups will receive cash scholarships ranging from $100 to $500.

Rich in history and social significance, the Miss America Organization is a not-for-profit corporation that has maintained a tradition of empowering American women to achieve their personal and professional goals, while providing a forum in which to express their opinions, talent and intelligence. This program is the largest scholarship provider for young women in the world. The titleholder advances to the Miss Florida Scholarship Program with the chance to increase her scholastic earnings.

The Miss Florida Citrus Scholarship Program relies on businesses and individuals in the community to make the program possible, and is looking for sponsors and local businesses who would like to advertise in the program book.
