USDA’s Farm Service Agency’s annual publication regarding foreign investors’ holdings of U.S. agricultural land is out. According to the data gathered through December 31st of 2011, foreign investors hold an interest in 25,715,588 acres of U.S. agricultural land, or approximately two-percent of all privately held U.S. agricultural land and one-percent of all land in the U.S. The total foreign-held U.S. agricultural acres increased nearly 1.5-million acres since the last report, dated December 31, 2010. The publication contains statistics that are current through the end of 2011 and is available on the FSA website.
