The highlight of the opening day of the 36th Annual Sunbelt Ag Expo was the crowning of the Sunbelt Ag 2013 Swisher Sweets/Sunbelt Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year awarded to South Carolina farmer James Cooley. 
The Alabama winner was Ms. Annie Dee, who along with her brother operates a modern row crop and beef cattle operation in Aliceville, Alabama.
The Florida winner is Mr. John Scott Long, owner of Agri-Gators, a vegetable operation near Palm City, Florida.
The Georgia winner is Mr. Will Harris, owner of White Oak pastures an organic farm and diversified livestock operation in Bluffton, Georgia.
