Indian River area growers Cody Estes and George Hamner were on hand last week when the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that Florida’s citrus acreage has declined to the lowest level since the USDA began keeping track in 1966. Estes reacts to the acreage decline in the first report. In the second report, Hamner reacts to both the total acreage decline and a drop in the amount of abandoned acreage in Florida.
