Grower trade association Florida Citrus Mutual has declared immigration to be one of its top priorities. In the first report, Mutual CEO Mike Sparks
says Florida growers want to avoid the problems that Georgia farmers encountered when that state passed immigration legislation.
In the other reports, Sparks discusses the federal H2A program that allows guest agricultural workers to enter the U.S. temporarily, and tells how much of Florida’s citrus crop may be harvested by those workers.
