Once again Florida Farm Bureau drew one of the biggest visiting crowds of the year to Tallahassee during the state’s legislative session for its “Farm Bureau Days” reception (top right) with the state’s political leadership. Farm Bureau members from all over
Florida spent the day visiting with legislative representatives about numerous issues of concern, then hosted many at their big annual reception near the Capitol. Photo left, Rep. Denise Grimsley meets in her office with members of FFB’s new 2011 Young Farmer & Rancher leadership team. Farm Bureau Days legislative visits, and personal discussions with state lawmakers and leaders at the reception
and elsewhere around the Capitol are among the best opportunities of the year for farmers and ranchers to explain their positions first hand. Photo right, Governor Rick Scott tries his fit into the driver’s seat on a tractor that was part of the display at Farm Bureau Days. Farm Bureau Days at the state Capitol attract lots of different agricultural people, including some who are involved in other agriculture groups in addition to being active in Farm Bureau. In the next
photo to the left, Governor Rick Scott appears with some members of the Wedgworth Leadership Class # 8, who were in town for Farm Bureau Day festivities among their other appointments. And of course leading the pack for Farm Bureau is FFB President John Hoblick who appears in the final photos below. In the photo to
the right, FFB President Hoblick (center right) is joined by his Dad, Ken Hoblick (center left), and FFB Executive Committee Board Members Mark Byrd (far left) and Brant Schirard (far right). And in the final photo, FFB President Hoblick is joined by Jake Raburn (left) and Kelvin Moreno (right), both members
of Farm Bureau’s Young Farmer & Rancher Leadership Committee.
AgNet hats are off to Farm Bureau members taking the time for this important effort. We also appreciate Erin Freel Best of ‘The Market Place’ for her help in taking pictures for this news post.
