Here at Southeast AgNet we are immensely proud of a guy who I’ve referred to over the years as the “grandaddy of Southeast AgNet.” As a college communications intern at Florida Farm Bureau in the late 1970’s I had the chance to go to Moultrie, Georgia to meet Everett Griner in his barnloft studio overlooking a cotton field. He introduced me to his views of a profession known as “farm broadcasting” and to make a lot of long stories very short I’ll just say ‘the rest is history.”
Everett is among the longest airing broadcasters in the nation, right up there with the likes of Paul Harvey and Andy Rooney. He started in radio back in the early 1940’s and remains active today doing his popular daily commentaries for Southeast AgNet. We’ve had the honor of having Everett on our network team since around 1990 and we continue to enjoy his popular daily thoughts about this fascinating industry of agriculture. So this Christmas day for our citrus followers who may not yet have found Everett’s daily commentaries on this website, we invite you to add the “AgriView” category to your daily listening here on this website. Here are two classic AgriViews for this Christmas day. ENJOY!
