Huanglongbing (HLB), “Greening” Takes Citrus Center Stage

One of the hottest topics to ever consume the worldwide citrus community is the tree disease Huanglongbing (HLB), known to many who know it best in Florida simply as ‘citrus greening disease’. Florida growers are throwing millions of dollars into research to find answers to the problem many say could end commercial citrus production if answers are not found. Dr. Harold Browning, UF-CRECMeanwhile, citrus scientists from around the globe are preparing to gather in Orlando next week December 1 – 5 for the International Research Conference on Huanglongbing, Peter McClurewhich also promises to draw a number of key Florida growers and researchers. University of Florida’s Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC) is helping plan and host the event, and Florida Citrus Mutual is playing a part as one of the hosts too.
