New Fresh Citrus Rules – Politics vs Science?

Under Secretary Knight Listens to Florida growers & packers at February meeting in Winter Garden FLSome Florida citrus growers are anxious to know what the rules will be for fresh fruit shipping next season and at this point are starting to wonder what the hold up is in getting the new rules published. We recently asked USDA Undersecretary Bruce Knight, who oversees the area that is expected to publish the new rules any day now, whether politics or science would drive what the new rules will say.
