Talk about the eastern diamondback rattlesnake and other critters possibly being named endangered species by the U.S. government has some Florida citrus growers concerned. They fear they could face more regulations if animals often found in their groves become protected species. Nick Wiley, executive director of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, tried to calm grower fears at last week’s Florida Citrus Industry Conference. He says wildlife BMPs could offer growers protection.
