The Food and Drug Administration’s sampling of imports of orange juice into the United States for the presence of the fungicide carbendazim as of Friday had found no violations that would require the imports to be refused. The FDA reported that 45 import samples had been collected and 19 are what the FDA calls “non-violative”; 12 of those shipments have already been released. The remaining 26 samples were pending analysis or are under compliance review. The FDA also is in the process of conducting sampling in the United States of finished product orange juice and concentrate used to make the finished product.
