AL Livestock Market Report:

At Alabama Livestock Auctions, for the week ended- August 16, 2024, receipts at 16 markets totaled 9,832 head compared to 14,241 last week and 13,353 last year. Compared to last week: Slaughter cattle sold 3.00 to 7.00 higher. Feeder steers and feeder heifers sold 3.00 to 7.00 higher, feeder bulls sold steady to 4.00 higher. Trade active with good demand on feeder cattle. Replacement cattle sold steady.  Year-to-date receipts totaled 318,237 compared to 386,442 last year.

At Georgia Livestock Auctions, for the week ended- August 16, 2024, receipts at 20 markets 8,277 compared to 5,668 last week reported and 7,876 last year.  Compared to last week: Slaughter cows and bulls sold 3.00 to 8.00 higher. Feeder classes sold unevenly steady to 5.00 higher. Replacement cows mostly steady with a higher undertone. Year-to-date receipts totaled 253,146 compared to 275,026 last year.
