At Alabama Livestock Auctions, for the week ended May 31, 2024, receipts at 16 markets totaled an estimated 8,067 head compared to 8,443 last week and 9,338 last year. Compared to last week: Slaughter cattle sold 2.00 to 6.00 higher. Feeder steers sold mostly steady, feeder heifers and feeder bulls sold steady to 3.00 higher. Trade active with good demand on feeder cattle. Replacement cows sold steady. Year-to-date receipts totaled 206,754 compared to 244,409 last year.
