AL Livestock Market Report:

At Alabama Livestock Auctions, for the week ended May 17, 2024, receipts at 16 markets totaled an estimated 8,540 head compared to 9,509 last week and 13,330 last year.  Compared to last week: Slaughter cows sold 2.00 to 5.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold mostly steady.  Feeder steers sold 1.00 to 5.00 higher, feeder heifers and feeder bulls sold 1.00 to 5.00 lower.  Trade active with good demand on feeder cattle. Replacement cows sold steady to firm.  Year-to-date receipts totaled 190,244 compared to 225,497 last year.

Replacement cows lightly tested.  Year-to-date receipts totaled 118,109 compared to 124,352 last year.
