At Alabama Livestock Auctions, for the week ended March 8, 2024, receipts at 17 markets totaled an estimated 8,656 head compared to 12,746 last week and 11,179 last year. Compared to last week: Slaughter cows sold 7.00 to 10.00 higher, slaughter bulls sold 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Feeder steers and feeder bulls sold unevenly steady. Feeder heifers sold sharply higher. Trade active with good to very good demand on feeder cattle. Replacement cows sold steady. Year-to-date receipts totaled 94,532 compared to 107,746 last year.
