The Georgia Peanut Commission reminds its producers that the deadline to apply or nominate a young peanut farmer for the Outstanding Georgia Young Peanut Farmer Award is Friday, Dec. 1. The Georgia Peanut Commission and BASF sponsor the award.
The award is based on the applicant’s overall farming operation; environmental and stewardship practices; and leadership, civic, church and community services activities.
The recipient cannot be over 45 years of age, as of Jan. 18, 2024, and they can only receive the award once. There is not a limit on the number of applicants from each county in Georgia.

The award winner will receive registration and hotel accommodations to attend the Southern Peanut Growers Conference on July 17-19, 2024, at the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort in Savannah, Georgia.
