USDA is making changes to its Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP) to better support cattle producers who have lost animals due to severe heat. Gary Crawford has more details.
The change in the LIP payment rate applies to claims made since January 1st, even if claims have already been paid. Contact your local USDA Farm Service Agency office for more information.
