The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Florida (NRCS-FL) will host an in-person and virtual State Technical Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern to provide a report for natural resource and program priorities and USDA decisions and to seek recommendations from Florida agricultural leaders.
The meeting is open to the public, but in-person attendance is limited to up to 30 members of the committee and NRCS employees at the NRCS state office, located at 4500 NW 27th Avenue, Building A, Gainesville, Florida 32606. Chaired by NRCS Florida Acting State Conservationist Nathan Fikkert, the committee is composed of individuals and groups from a variety of agricultural and natural resource interests, as well as farmers. And while the State Technical Committee has no implementation or enforcement authority, USDA strongly considers the committee’s recommendations.
