The Georgia Cotton Commission (GCC) reminds growers and industry leaders that the University of Georgia (UGA) production workshops will be a vital part of the commission’s upcoming annual meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Attendees will learn about various components of cotton production, including irrigation, precision agriculture, insect and disease management and soil fertility.
Taylor Sills, executive director of the Georgia Cotton Commission, discussed the importance of the UGA cotton production workshops.
“A lot of people will go to their county meetings and hear one or two Extension specialists. But if you really want to get in the weeds or hear from the other speakers who may not come to your county production meeting, this is a good chance to see them all under one roof,” Sills said.
The event will begin at 8 a.m., and registration is free.
