The Georgia Peanut Commission (GPC) reminds growers and industry leaders that the 46th annual Georgia Peanut Farm Show is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will be held at the University of Georgia (UGA) Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia.
The event is free and open to farmers and industry representatives to attend.
Hannah Jones, project coordinator in research and education at the GPC, discusses what attendees can expect from next year’s show.
“The show brings over 110 exhibitors, various agribusiness and organizations, mostly specific to the peanut industry,” Jones said. “The UGA Peanut Team will also be there to provide the production seminars. Growers will be able to earn their private and commercial credits for their pesticide applicator certification.
“It’s just a really good time to network. These growers can come out of the field, talk to their salesmen and figure out a plan for the next season.”
Unlike this past year, the show will be a one-day event instead of being held over two days.
“The 2022 show, we did try the two-day show, but we heard from attendees and exhibitors that a one-day show is sufficient,” Jones said.
At the close of Thursday, there will be nearly $10,000 in door prizes presented to farmers, as well as a Grand Door Prize, vendor products, certificates and equipment.
