The Georgia Cotton Commission (GCC) is excited to announce the slate of expert speakers scheduled to present at the commission’s annual meeting on Jan. 26, 2022, at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Taylor Sills, executive director of the GCC, talked about each of the presenters.
“We’ve got three fantastic speakers. Kent Fountain, who’s chairman of the National Cotton Council, is a ginner and grower from Surrency, Georgia. We’re honored to have him in such a high position of leadership. He’s going to give us an update on council activities and what they’re doing on growers’ behalf and then he’ll talk about the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol,” Sills said. “Jimmy Webb, who’s a grower from Calhoun County, Georgia, who we’re also fortunate to have in a high leadership position as chairman of the Cotton Board, is going to give an update on the Cotton Board’s activities and go through their five-year economic review.
“Finally, our third speaker will be Kim Kitchings, who is senior vice-president of Consumer Marketing for Cotton Incorporated. She’ll talk about the unique things that she and her team at Cotton Incorporated are doing to position cotton globally as the No. 1 fiber in the world.”
