While USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Georgia recently held a batching sign up for 2022 programs, they want to remind producers and landowners technical or financial assistance can be applied for year-round.

Georgia State Conservationist Terrance O. Rudolph wants you to know that applications are accepted on a continuous basis, and this includes for their popular Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

Rudolph said, “In times like these, we hope Georgia’s farmers, ranchers and private landowners know that the USDA-NRCS is here to help them by making best use of their land and natural resources. EQIP is one of the most utilized tools in our conservation toolbox that helps our customers achieve their economic and environmental goals.”

Assistance is available to help producers and landowners plan and implement conservation practices to provide environmental benefits on cropland, pasture, forestland, and associated agricultural land, including animal feeding operations. As a result, EQIP helps to improve water quantity and quality, build healthier soil, improve grazing and forest lands, conserve energy, enhance organic operations, as well as establish or improve wildlife habitat.
