The Sunbelt Ag Expo started its monthly blog series last September, where each month it provides information on a new topic. Every Tuesday, new information on that topic is released on its Facebook page, Instagram or at http://sunbeltexpo.com/blog-series/.

For January, the Sunbelt Ag Expo staff looks at its Farmer of the Year competition. Each week it breaks it down into the various sections of the yearly event, looking at how the state winners are chosen to the history of the award program.

As a part of that series Chip Blalock, Executive Director of the Sunbelt Ag Expo, explains, “We are proud to coordinate this amazing awards program and provide an opportunity to recognize the hard work, leadership, and innovation of each of the annual state winners. Though much has changed since the start of this award, there has always been a shared commitment to the continued betterment of the agriculture industry.”

Because the Sunbelt Ag Expo was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19, Blalock told Southeast AgNet this blog series was developed to help keep Sunbelt on everyone’s mind.

You can also go back and see the monthly series that have already been provided, which includes Hay in September, Backyard Gardening in October, The Harvest in November and Livestock in December. Then in February, the series will look at Educating the Next Generation while in March they will provide information about Expo 2021.
