Last week, Congress passed a short-term spending bill that was signed by the President to extend government funding until Dec. 11. This temporary spending bill replenishes $30 billion in the Commodity Credit Corporation for farm programs and pandemic relief through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). Many in agriculture praised the signing of that legislation, including the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. NCBA Executive Director of Government Affairs, Danielle Beck, explains how this continuing resolution affects cattle producers.

And Beck also discussed the amended Heroes Act the House passed last week.

The House passed the $2.2 trillion coronavirus aid package, an update to the previous $3.4 billion bill that passed in May, by a vote of 214 to 207. To see a section-by-section summary of the legislation as introduced click here.
