Next year’s Georgia Peanut Farm Show will be a two-day event.

Don Koehler, executive director of the Georgia Peanut Commission, confirmed on Wednesday that the 2021 farm show will be held Jan. 20-21 at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center.

The adjustment to next year’s show schedule was made to allow for social distancing amid the current coronavirus pandemic.

“I think the board felt like that in this world of COVID-19 that they wanted to make sure that if a farmer was a little nervous about the crowd being crowded and being able to space people out then by going to a two-day show it gives folks an opportunity to be able to do that,” Koehler said. “We’ll actually have the same program both days. The only thing that’ll be different is door prizes will just happen one day. But you won’t have to be present to win this year.”

There will only be one meal served during the event and that’ll be on Thursday. Wednesday’s show will not start until that afternoon.

Included in the event will be UGA peanut team members who will talk about the latest trends and developments concerning the peanut industry.
