Montgomery, Ala. – In August, Gov. Kay Ivey announced that $26 Million of CARES Act Funds would be used to assist Alabama Agriculture impacted by COVID-19. These funds were used to establish the Alabama Agricultural Stabilization Program (AASP).
The application period for the Poultry Farmer Stabilization Grant Program portion of the AASP has been postponed. Applications for the poultry program will be available at agi.alabama.gov or crf.alabama.gov at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020. The new deadline for applications is Friday, Nov. 6, 2020. This program will assist poultry farmers that experienced disruptions due to COVID-19.
Broiler growers that have experienced downtimes of over 17 days, density reductions of 10% or more, or both between March 13 and October 15, 2020, will be eligible.
In addition to the broiler program, Pullet growers that have experienced downtimes of over 42 days and Breeder growers that have experienced downtimes of over 56 days will be eligible. The downtimes must have occurred between March 13 and October 15, 2020.
Applications for the Poultry Farmer Stabilization Grant Program will be available at agi.alabama.gov or crf.alabama.gov at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 and the deadline to submit applications is Nov. 6, 2020.
