During the partial Federal Government shutdown, your local USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices are open. But, due to a lapse in federal funding, some USDA websites are not being actively updated. Once funding has been reestablished, online operations will continue. But information concerning various NRCS programs is still available at nrcs.usda.gov.
NRCS offers voluntary programs to eligible landowners and agricultural producers to provide both financial and technical assistance to help manage natural resources in a sustainable manner. Through these programs the agency provides financial assistance to help plan and implement conservation practices that address natural resource concerns or opportunities to help save energy, improve soil, water, plant, air, animal and related resources on agricultural lands and non-industrial private forest land.
If you have business with NRCS or want to begin working with them, offices are open. Learn more at nrcs.usda.gov.
