It was recently announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have reached an agreement to joint regulation of cell-cultured foods. FDA will manage cell collection, cell banks, and cell growth with USDA taking over during the cell harvest stage, then overseeing production and labeling of cell-based meat products.
