The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Georgia has been working with state and federal agencies the past few weeks to provide information and assistance to agricultural producers affected by Hurricane Michael.

While the Emergency Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) signup, which runs through Nov. 16, is helping to address the most critical resource concerns in the major disaster-declared region, NRCS is expecting to have an additional Hurricane Michael Recovery EQIP signup in the other affected areas of Georgia soon.

USDA’s Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Rural Development and Risk Management Agency held an informational meeting recently in Tifton to provide updates and information regarding disaster programs that are available to producers. More information about that meeting and other state resource information can be found on the Georgia NRCS website.
