Everett Griner talks about labor issues in today’s Agri View. Everett discusses how, and why, the meat processing industry needs a permanent labor staff.
Chicken Pickin’ Meat Processing Labor
Much of today’s agriculture is carried on by a migrant population. Labor comes and goes. It is almost adequate in the planning, growing, and harvesting seasons. It changes during the following months.
Scientists have shown us that that one section of food production needs a well trained, permanent, staff. It is the meat processing industry. It is an industry to itself. It is essentially three different industries. Beef, pork, and poultry. It is an industry that does not function well with a changing population.
Scientists already indicated that processed food that feeds us should be from a well trained, permanent, staff. It is a job that is demanding in time and training. Often in uncomfortable conditions. Why? That is the part that is drawing attention right now.
Look for a change, we hope.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
