Cathy Isom lets you know why you’ll want to pay special attention to trees today. That’s coming up on This Land of Ours.
Celebrating National Arbor Day
Every last Friday in April is the day when we’re all encouraged to plant and care for trees. April 27th is National Arbor Day. A perfect excuse to give a little extra TLC to the trees that provide vital protection for the Earth’s topsoil from erosion, oxygen, and also homes for wildlife.
Trees are a renewable resource that provides a variety of materials for building, fuel and office supplies. They beautify our environment, provide shade on a sunny day and improve our quality of life.
Some ways to celebrate all these things is by planting a tree. Giving a gift of a tree to a friend or family member or, learning more about trees and sharing with your community. You can also use the hashtag #NationalArborDay to post on Social Media.
